What is Prompt tracking?

Also: AI visibility monitoring

Prompt tracking means asking AI assistants a fixed set of realistic questions on a schedule and recording the answers: which brands are named, in which order and from which sources. Repeating the same questions over time reveals trends that a single screenshot cannot show.

Choosing prompts

Good prompts mirror what buyers actually ask: category questions, comparisons, problem-first questions and local variants in the buyer's language. They should not name your brand, otherwise you only measure how well the assistant knows you.

Why repeat runs

Language models vary their wording and sometimes their picks. Asking each prompt several times and averaging gives a more reliable picture. There is no true search volume for prompts, so treat any volume figure with caution.
