What is citation share?
Citation share is the percentage of all source links in a set of AI answers that point to your domain. If assistants cite 200 links across your tracked questions and 20 lead to your site, your citation share is 10 %. It measures how much of the answers' evidence base you supply.
How is it different from share of voice?
Share of voice counts how often your brand is named. Citation share counts how often your pages are linked as a source. A brand can be named often, because other sites write about it, without ever being cited, and the reverse is possible too. Read both.
Example: assistants cite 200 links across your 25 tracked questions and 20 lead to your site, so your citation share is 10 %.
How to improve it
Cited pages are usually specific and easy to quote: a comparison, a pricing page with plain numbers, a how-to with a direct answer in the first sentence. See citation and answer-first content.
How does Nodpick show it?
Nodpick lists the sources assistants cite for your questions, so you can see which domains supply the evidence and whether yours is among them. Run the free AI visibility check to see your own numbers; the method shows how they are made, and pricing lists the plans.
