What is a knowledge graph?

Also: Google Knowledge Graph

A knowledge graph is a database of entities, such as brands, people and products, and the relationships between them. Google's Knowledge Graph feeds panels and helps Search recognise which real-world thing a name refers to. A clear, consistent entity makes it more likely that your brand is understood correctly.

Why does it matter for AI answers?

Assistants must decide whether two mentions refer to the same company. A brand with one clear name, one description and consistent profiles across sources is easier to identify than a brand with several spellings and conflicting facts.

Example: searching a company name shows a panel with its logo, founding year and official website, all taken from consistent sources.

How to strengthen your entity

Use one brand name everywhere, describe it the same way on your site and profiles, add Organization markup with links to your official profiles, and make sure public sources such as Wikidata are correct where they exist.

Check it for your brand

Nodpick shows whether assistants name your brand correctly, so you spot an entity that is mixed up with another. Run the free AI visibility check to see your own numbers; the method shows how they are made, and pricing lists the plans.
