What is statistical significance in AI tracking?

Also: Significant change, real change

A change is statistically significant when it is larger than what chance alone would plausibly produce. In AI visibility tracking, a score that moves from 48 to 51 is usually noise, because answers vary. Only a change that clearly exceeds the normal swing deserves a conclusion or a reaction.

Why does it matter?

Without a significance rule, every small movement looks like a trend, and teams react to noise: rewriting pages that were fine or celebrating luck. A fixed rule protects against both.

Example: a score moving from 48 to 51 inside a range of plus or minus 8 is not significant; a move from 48 to 70 is.

How does Nodpick apply it?

Nodpick only counts a weekly change as real when it beats the brand's normal swing, and it marks the evidence behind each recommendation as documented, studied or untested. Run the free AI visibility check to see your own numbers; the method shows how they are made, and pricing lists the plans.
